Who operates this service.
What Can I Smoke? is owned and operated by Stillforge Digital LLC. Questions about this policy or your personal information can be sent to support@whatcanismoke.com.
Information we collect.
If you use Google to sign in, we receive the basic account information needed to identify your account, such as your Google account identifier, email address, name, and profile image when available. If you use passwordless email sign-in, we use your email address to verify and identify the account. We do not receive or store your Google password or an account password.
When you use collection features, we store information you choose to provide, including cigar holdings and quantities, humidor and shelf locations, ratings, notes, acquisition dates, smoke history, storage configuration, cigar catalog submissions, and cigar and storage photos you upload.
Our hosting and web-server infrastructure may also create routine technical logs, which can include information such as IP address, browser or device information, requested URLs, timestamps, and error information.
How we use information.
We use this information to authenticate you, maintain your private collection and journal, operate and secure the service, troubleshoot problems, review catalog contributions, moderate community features, and improve What Can I Smoke?. We may use anonymized or aggregated information—such as average ratings, owner counts, or total sticks—to provide community-level cigar insights.
Cookies, app storage, and authentication.
The website uses cookies or similar browser mechanisms that are necessary to maintain authentication and operate account features. The native mobile app stores long-lived authentication material in device secure storage and keeps short-lived access credentials in app memory. We do not currently operate an advertising network or sell personal information for targeted advertising.
When information is shared.
We do not publish your personal humidor, shelf locations, private notes, individual smoke history, or photos you keep private. A cigar photo is considered for public Community display only when you explicitly submit it for Community review and an administrator approves it. A storage photo appears on a shared humidor only when you explicitly enable that separate photo-sharing option. Public profile categories are opt-in and can be disabled from your privacy settings.
Information may be processed by providers needed to operate the service, including Google when you choose Google sign-in and our hosting infrastructure. We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the service or its users, or in connection with a legitimate security investigation.
Photo privacy.
Uploaded photos are processed for web and app display. The service removes embedded image metadata such as EXIF information during processing so that location metadata is not intentionally retained in the displayed copy. You can delete your own uploaded photos from the relevant cigar or storage page.
External links.
What Can I Smoke? may link to independent websites, including What Can I Pour? and cigar-related resources. Their privacy practices are their own, and this policy does not govern those sites.
Retention and account deletion.
We retain account and collection information while it is needed to provide the service. You can permanently delete your account from the native app under Profile → Account Deletion or from whatcanismoke.com/account/delete. Account deletion removes your personal collection, journal, favorites, wishlist, smoke history, follows, badges, notifications, and uploaded photo records. Shared catalog records may remain after the submitting account identity has been detached. Limited anonymized security or administrative records may be retained when reasonably necessary for abuse prevention, legal compliance, or service integrity.
Security.
We use reasonable administrative and technical measures intended to protect account information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please contact us if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
Adults only.
This service is intended for adults age 21 and older. We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children through What Can I Smoke?.
Changes and contact.
We may update this policy as the service changes. Material revisions will be reflected by updating the effective date on this page. Questions about privacy can be sent to support@whatcanismoke.com.
